How do I keep my patcher from auto-running?

My game runs automatically and I need to change settings!

Don't worry, there is a way to disable the auto-play toggle on the Patcher.

If you right-click your shortcut (make sure this is the shortcut and not the executable itself) and click 'Properties', a window will open. In the 'Shortcut' tab, there is a field for "Target". It should look something like this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSOFT\WildStar\WildStar.exe"

You will need to just add one bit of text to the end of that field, so that the Target looks like this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSOFT\WildStar\WildStar.exe" -norun

To be clear, that is a hyphen (found next to the 0 key on your keyboard) and the word 'norun'. Those should both be added outside of the quotation marks. Once you have added this, hit 'Apply' and close the Properties window. Now when you run that shortcut, the patcher should open without auto-starting the game.
